Description

The CETAC Aridus3™ Desolvating Nebulizer System is a high-performance liquid sample introduction accessory designed for inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Engineered for ultra-trace and isotopic analysis, the Aridus3 can enhance analyte sensitivity by up to 10× or more* while significantly reducing solvent-based interferences such as oxides and hydrides. By combining a low-flow PFA nebulizer, a heated PFA spray chamber, and an inert fluoropolymer membrane, the Aridus3 delivers exceptional sample transport efficiency and interference suppression. It is particularly well-suited for small-volume, high-purity, and highly corrosive samples, including those commonly encountered in earth sciences and semiconductor applications. Key Performance Advantages *Up to 10× sensitivity enhancement, depending on sample uptake rate *Low sample consumption with uptake rates of 50, 100, or 200 µL/min *Reduced oxide and hydride formation for improved data quality *Excellent compatibility with aggressive acids, including HF System Features *Advanced Sample Introduction-C-Flow™ PFA concentric nebulizer with integrated autosampler probe, Optimized for use with the Teledyne CETAC ASX-112FR Micro Autosampler, Factory-adjusted for optimal performance in the heated PFA spray chamber *Heated PFA Spray Chamber-Improves aerosol transport efficiency, Enclosed behind a secured door to minimize electrostatic effect *Inert Membrane Desolvation-Fluoropolymer membrane provides chemical resistance and ultra-low background ,Reduces solvent load entering the plasma *Precision Gas and Temperature Control-Built-in mass flow controllers (MFCs) for: Argon sweep gas,Nitrogen addition gas *Software-controlled spray chamber and membrane oven temperatures *Enables remote tuning, ideal for cleanroom or enclosure installations Flow Saver™ Software *Automatically shuts off Ar and N₂ gas flows after unattended or overnight runs, *Reduces gas consumption and operating costs Removable Membrane Desolvator Module *Easily removed from the rear panel—no need to open the main enclosure *Simplifies cleaning, maintenance, or replacement *Includes dedicated rinse kit for cleaning with solutions such as dilute nitric acid *Low-Flow C-Flow™ PFA Nebulizer Options -Available self-aspiration flow rates: 50 µL/min,100 µL/min,200 µL/min Each nebulizer is optimized specifically for the Aridus3 / ASX-112FR configuration to ensure consistent, high- performance operation. Flash chromatography is a widely used purification technique in organic and pharmaceutical laboratories for the rapid separation of chemical compounds from complex mixtures. As an advanced form of preparative column chromatography, it utilizes pressurized gas or pumps to force the mobile phase through a column packed with a stationary phase, typically silica gel. This controlled pressure significantly accelerates the separation process compared to traditional gravity-driven column chromatography, reducing purification times from several hours or days to just minutes. The technique operates on the principle of differential adsorption, where compounds in a mixture interact differently with the stationary phase and travel through the column at varying rates. As a result, individual components can be effectively separated and collected in distinct fractions. Flash chromatography is highly versatile and can accommodate a broad range of sample sizes, from milligram-scale research applications to larger-scale industrial processes. Modern flash chromatography systems often incorporate automated controls, gradient elution capabilities, and advanced detection methods, enhancing reproducibility, efficiency, and accuracy. It is extensively applied in drug discovery, natural product isolation, chemical synthesis, and quality control laboratories. Owing to its speed, reliability, and adaptability, flash chromatography has become an indispensable tool for chemists, enabling the efficient purification of compounds and supporting innovation across scientific and industrial research fields. Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC) is an advanced separation technique that uses a supercritical fluid—most commonly carbon dioxide (CO₂)—as the mobile phase. In its supercritical state, CO₂ exhibits properties of both a gas (low viscosity, high diffusivity) and a liquid (solvation strength), enabling fast, efficient, and high-resolution separations. SFC bridges the gap between gas chromatography (GC) and liquid chromatography (LC), offering the speed of GC with the versatility of LC. How SFC Works When CO₂ is brought above its critical temperature and pressure, it becomes a supercritical fluid. In this state, it: Penetrates stationary phases efficiently (like a gas) How SFC Works When CO₂ is brought above its critical temperature and pressure, it becomes a supercritical fluid. In this state, it: *Penetrates stationary phases efficiently (like a gas) *Dissolves analytes effectively (like a liquid) *Enables rapid mass transfer and shorter run times Modifiers such as methanol or ethanol are often added to enhance solubility for polar compounds.
